Finally double vaccinated
I’ve been singly vaccinated since March 18 but was supposed to schedule a second shot when the shot givers sent me a text inviting me to do so.
since they never sent the text I never got the shot.
When attempting to register online for an appointment it would tell me they would text me when it was time. Their online scheduler only enabled first time scheduling.
after the window of when I was supposed to get it i worried I had like, missed the window. I know that the window is kind of nonsensical but didn’t know if THEY would approach it that way.
then I was also afraid to get the second shot because everyone talked about getting sick from second shots. Also a couple days after I got my first shot was when I started feeling totally burnt out and so I guess psychologically I was afraid of getting a second shot because maybe the shot caused my burnout lol. It’s like food poisoning; whatever you ate that happened to give you food poisoning just doesn’t sound good anymore.
but since my work place is allowing employees who are fully vaccinated not to wear masks anymore, I finally decided to try to schedule the shot.
I was worried That because it had been two months it would be a problem. Or that I wouldn’t find my (new union) insurance card that is in the mail I haven’t opened for a month. Or that I wouldn’t be able to find the vaccine card. Or that there wouldn’t be a place to get the shot.
but all I really needed to do was Google it. I got a same day appointment for Pfizer #2 at the Walgreens I can see from my living room window, showed up late because it was on my lunch break, didn’t bring my insurance card, found my vaccine card where I wisely left it (in my glove box after getting it), and nobody wanted an insurance card and nobody cared I was late, or that I was like, 40 days late on the window for shot 2.
the paperwork said shot 1 and I was like uh oh here it comes, they are going to look at my dates and say this is a problem. I alerted them that “I need Pfizer shot 2” snd they were like oh okay just tell the doctor that.”
It’s very hard for me to understand how these things work. Basically people don’t follow the procedures the way I think they are going to. People don’t do what’s in writing. Except occasionally they do. this is what I find hard about rules snd procedures is how selectively important they are.
Anyway got the shot and I feel fine so far. My arm feels like it has a bruise on it, same as last time.
